Dr. P. C. Srikanth obtained his B.E. from MCE, Hassan in 1988 and M.Tech. from IIT, Kanpur in 1996 and Ph.D. from V.T.U. Belgaum in 2011. He is serving MCE since 1988. His areas of interest are Optical Networks, Optical communication, LASERS and its applications Photonics,Digital communication and computer and wireless networks. He has  more than 30 national/international publications to his credit.

Mr. Murthi Mahadeva Naik G. obtained his B.E. from MCE, Hassan in 1997 and M.Tech. from MCE, Hassan in 2002. He is serving MCE since 2005. His areas of interest are Digital Electronics , Communication and Microprocessors.

Ms. B. R. Sujatha obtained her B.E. from NIE, Mysore in 1983 and M.E. from IISc, Bangalore in 1990 and doing her Ph.D. in field of Adhoc Networks. She is serving MCE since 1984. Her areas of interest include Computer Networks, Information Theory and Coding, Wireless Ad Hoc networks and Wireless Communication.She has around 20 national/international publications.

Ms. G. H. Asha obtained her B.E. from MCE, Hassan in 1983 and M.E. from IISc, Bangalore in 1992. She is serving MCE since 1983 also as treasurer MCE Alumni association. Her areas of interest include VLSI, CAD for VLSI, Digital System Design using VHDL, Digital Circuits and Logic design, Advanced CMOS VLSI design.

Mr. D. S. Keerthi obtained his B.E in Electronics & Communication from A.I.T Chickmagalur  in 2007 and M.Tech in DECS from MCE, Hassan in 2009.Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management in 2011 and presently he is pursuing Ph.D under VTU, Belgaum. He is serving in MCE since 2010, prior to this he had been working as Lecturer at BCE, Shravanabelagola for 02 years. His areas of research include Computer Networks, Wireless Communication and Image Processing.He has 03 National/International Publications to his credit.

Lab Facilities

The department has very well equipped laboratories which have been set up with an investment of more than 3.3 Crores, using the financial assistance from the State, the Central Government and TEQIP. The different laboratories are:

Electronics and Communication Laboratory


This lab is established at an estimated cost of Rs.75.00 Lakhs. The courses like Basic Electronics lab, Analog Electronics lab and Communication lab are conducted in this laboratory. The laboratory has many modern equipments to support research activities.

 

Power Electronics Laboratory


This laboratory is set up at an estimated cost of Rs.50.00 Lakhs. The lab courses like Basic Electronics lab, Digital / Analog Electronics lab and Communication labs are conducted in this laboratory. Many research and industrial projects are taken up using the facilities of this laboratory.

 

Microprocessor Laboratory


This is a well established laboratory with equipments worth more than 75.00 Lakhs, with an ample number of microprocessor development systems, microcontroller kits and other equipments. The lab courses like microprocessor / microcontroller lab and Embedded systems labs are conducted in this laboratory.

 

Computer Center


The computer center is well equipped with more than 50 Pentium (P-IV) machines and other accessories with an investment of about Rs.75.00 Lakhs. The lab courses like VLSI, VHDL, DSP lab and programming labs are conducted in this laboratory.

Other facilities


Seminar Room

The department has a dedicated seminar hall and good computing and projection facilities and can seat 50 people.

 

Staff Computer Center

 The department has an exclusive computer center with 10 modern computers, printing facility and Laptops.

 

Class Rooms

The department has a separate M.Tech class rooms with dedicated PC & projector facilities. The five UG class rooms are in SA block of the college.

 

 HOD office room and Staff room

The department has a separate HOD office room with all required facilities. Separate staff rooms are available for senior faculty and partitioned rooms are available for other staff/faculty members.

 

Equipment Services Center

A service center for repair and maintenance work has been established in the department.

 

Department library

The department has a dedicated library with nearly 2000 text books. These facilities are being availed by B.E and M.Tech students and also by staff members of the department.
