Institutional Strategic Development Plan - 2023-2028 Malnad College of Engineering has felt the need of a strategic development of a plan for the institution. The mandate was given to the Dean planning and development to develop strategic plan for a period of five years from 2023-2028.An Institutional strategic development plan team (ISDP) deliberated and arrived at policies keeping the Institution’s vision in mind. The ISDP team involved all the deans, heads of the departments, and all faculty members, technical staff and the students in preparing the strategic plan. The implementation of the policies would be the responsibility of the head of the Institution. The responsibilities of evaluation, monitoring, reviewing and analyzing the deviation during the course periodically made to remain with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell – IQAC along with Dean Planning and Development. This comprehensive plan will be a guiding plan for the years 2023-2028. MCE Strategic Plan 2023 -2028 identifies the following targets: The vision articulated for the Institution in 2007 was to become and be perceived as the leading college in engineering education in the country and one of the premier colleges of engineering in the world producing skilled, creative to be socially responsible professionals. This continues to be the vision and long-term goal. The college will achieve national and international recognition of this envisioned future through the following targets: Perception: The Institution will attain a reputation for excellence in engineering education and research, producing socially responsible professionals. We will be an internationally reputed institution for best practices in research, education and outreach. We will be a world-class educational institution, giving solutions to the problems related to technical, social, economical through research and educational contributions on a global scale contributing directly to MAKE IN INDIA initiative by the batch of 1990Alumni to address global challenges

Staff/Faculty and students: The incentives, rewards, and appreciations in terms of monetary and professorships will attract a diverse set of faculty and retain the best faculty. The Institutional scholarships, stipends, Incentives, research culture and entrepreneurial culture will attract the best and brightest students. This helps in bringing diverse set of staff and students to think and feel “the world is one family”. Infrastructure: The Institution will have world-class facilities along with global virtual presence for interdisciplinary research and education to nurture the students to think as a socially responsible person. Research: We will be an institute of excellence in identifying and solving problems to improve human and environmental conditions on global footprints, funding trough industry, research organizations, and universities. We will develop and progress in association with the MAKE IN MCE initiatives to address global challenges. We will be the world’s knowledge centre through inventions, and discoveries resulting in scholarly publications for information exchange, patents, and startups in revenue generation to be a self- sustaining Institute and at the same time the faculty/staff and students will be rewarded for their contribution in research. Education/ Students/Alumni/: We will be a world class institute for educating the students on Outcome based education platform by imparting Skill, Knowledge and attitude to enable their professional and personal success, establish institutional pride, promote social responsibility and encourage lifelong involvement and to associate them in the MAKE IN MCE initiatives. The students will be globally competitive, industry ready and have entrepreneurial abilities. We will be recognized internationally for quality diversity and for best attitude of students. We will be recognized for innovative distance education programs. The institution will provide relevant education in respect of the culture of the land to think and feel “the world is one family”. Our alumni initiative MAKE IN MCE will be a model for all educational institutes and our alumni will be world leaders in leading world’s best institutions, industries, and society. Malnad college of Engineering will be more focused on staring new academic programs focused on interdisciplinary and system orientation, and industrially relevant.

 Revenue Model:

Malnad College of Engineering will be identified as a global hub for technology transfer either by intellectual property or by collaboration involving staff, students, industry, organizations, universities, and alumni by the MAKE IN MCE initiatives. We will be identified as one of the best consultant/mentor to encourage the local skilled workers, agricultural products transformed into revenue generating model at the global level. We will also be identified as consultant/mentor in for the industries, companies and start-ups in and around the district, state, country and beyond. Through these innovative approaches and ways of partnering with industries, government, institutes, organizations, local societies, peoples, to enhance the economic well-being to enhance the competitiveness at the global level. Industry, Research Institutes and University Collaborations/Partnerships: The Alumni association will be helping to collaborate/associate with, industries, professional associations, government and public sector organizations, and leading international educational institutions and research institutes. The MAKE IN MCE will be an international model for encouraging alumni involvement, collaborations and partnerships in starting START-UPS and by developing creative products by the staff and students. We believe in providing one of the best educational opportunities for all to ensure collective growth and for better opportunities at national and global platform. We ensure the students’ success through integration of education, research, interdisciplinary research. We believe that the staff, students, alumni and whoever is associated with will remain credible, respected in all the endeavors.
