Make in MCE - An Alumni Initiative
Make-in-MCE (MiM) - An innovative concept to launch entrepreneurial career for students. This was launched in the year 2016 by 1986-90 batch of MCE alumni.
Vision
To foster innovation, interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary projects, and entrepreneurship, while creating a strong platform for collaboration among students, alumni, and faculty.
Mission
- Encourage students to undertake innovative projects across disciplines.
- Strengthen student–alumni–faculty mentorship and collaboration.
- Create pathways for entrepreneurship, research, and skill enhancement.
The activities under MiM are
- A good number of research projects are carried out, resulting in quality publications, patents filing and product development
- Inspires and supports students to undertake inter-disciplinary projects, fostering innovation and collaboration across diverse engineering domains.
- Organizes visits to institutes of higher learning, technology expos, and workshops, providing students with valuable exposure and real-world insights.
MārgaDarśaka
- This initiative was inaugurated on 26.09.2025 by Mr. Vinay Prabhakar, Partner & Chief Commercial Officer, Deloitte AP, and Sales & Alliance Leader, Deloitte India.
- Alumni-driven mentorship platform for MCE students
- Provides career guidance, industry insights, and knowledge sharing
- The first mentoring program started in February, 2026 with 25 alumni mentors and 50 student mentees.
- Initial interaction has started and good progress is noticed. An alumni helped FOUR students to get Internship in Wipro Technologies
Parahita
- 1980 Batch Mechanical Students Alumni-driven mentorship platform for MCE students inaugurated on 27th September 2025 by 1980 batch mechanical Students.
- Aims to create awareness of human values through short videos created by students, while also promoting and supporting events centered on ethics and social responsibility.
