Socio Economically Disadvantaged Cell
Objectives of the Cell
- To identify students who face socio-economic difficulties affecting their education.
- To create awareness among students regarding available scholarships, financial assistance and welfare schemes.
- To facilitate access to scholarships and other government/institutional financial assistance.
- To provide guidance and support to students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
- To coordinate with concerned departments and authorities for addressing students’ academic and financial difficulties.
- To promote an inclusive, supportive and equitable learning environment on campus.
- To maintain appropriate records of activities undertaken and support provided to eligible students.
Functions of the Cell
- Conduct awareness programmes regarding scholarships, fellowships and welfare schemes.
- Assist eligible students in applying for financial assistance through appropriate portals.
- Identify students requiring additional academic or institutional support.
- Coordinate with mentors, Heads of Departments and the Dean – Student Affairs wherever necessary.
- Organize counselling and guidance programmes for students facing socio-economic difficulties.
- Review the effectiveness of support measures periodically and submit reports to the competent authority.
