Malnad College of Engineering has the vision set as “to be an Institute of Excellence in Engineering education and research, producing socially responsible professionals”.  In order to advance scholarly activity in Malnad College of Engineering, ME-RIISE (Malnad Enclave for Research, Innovation, Incubation, Start-ups, and Entrepreneurship) was founded with the intention of engaging in collaborative research, training students in research tools, disseminating research, or engaging in creative projects.

ME-RIISE often promotes multidisciplinary study and encompasses activities that go beyond the scope of one subject. The establishment of a Centre with the express purpose of obtaining funding for research projects is possible. The center can be used by researchers, faculties to apply for grants and get funds for R&D. Several events like FDP, Webinars and training programs were held in the center prevalently for the benefit of the faculty and students

MHRD Institution Innovation Council

Ministry of Education (MoE), Govt. of India has established ‘MoE’s Innovation Cell (MIC)’ to systematically foster the culture of innovation amongst all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). In collaboration with ME-RIISE, Institution Innovation Cell has been established in the college with the vision of fostering innovation and support students to enrich their spirit of entrepreneurship.

Collaboration with ICT Academy

ME-RIISE has association with ICT Academy which has led to the establishment of Centre of Excellence powered by Autodesk and Fusion 360. Workshops conducted: Fusion 360, Revit Architecture and Salesforce Developer 402 Awards:

• State Cloud Championship Award and best under institution for extensive participation in Cloud literacy month 2018
• Coordinator of ME-RIISE was awarded with best cloud champion award under coordinator category in cloud literacy month 2018
• ICT Academy Partner’s In Growth Awarded for outstanding partnership and active participation in initiatives of ICT Academy

Unnat Bharat Abhiyan

ME-RIISE, has also found a cause in bringing transformational change in rural development under Unnat Bharath Abhiyan. Five villages around Hassan have been adopted and activities are being conducted to move towards holistic development of the villages.

New Age Innovation Network (NAIN)

ME-RIISE is associated with New Age Innovation Network and is working towards bringing up incubation centers that will encourage students, researchers, scholars, and alumni to share their ideas, nurture, and bring out technical solutions to problems that are local-centric.

The main objective of the NAIN Scheme is to encourage students, research scholars, and alumni to share their ideas to solve the chosen problems which are local-centric and to validate, refine, and nurture the ideas. Incubation Center shall provide an eco-system to convert the ideas in proof of concept and upgrade them to a level of commercial value. After successful incubation, encourage and lead the teams towards setting up a business enterprise

MoU with Atal Incubation Centre

ME-RIISE has a MoU with Atal Incubation Centre, Jyothi Institute of Technology, Bangalore. This association has provided a platform for collaborative research between two different institutes and various other activities.

Innovation & Centralized Research Laboratory

Innovation lab of ME-RIISE fosters innovative activities and supports students to enrich their spirit of entrepreneurship. The innovation lab comprises IoT facilities for developing innovative projects and high-performance computing facilities for carrying out research.
