About Department of Robotics & Artificial Intelligence
The Department of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence is one of the newest branches of MCE, established to meet the growing demand for engineers skilled in intelligent automation and autonomous systems. In line with its vision of becoming a center of excellence in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, the department is committed to nurturing competent and ethical engineers who integrate hardware and software to design intelligent, autonomous systems and innovative solutions for the betterment of society.
The department focuses on teaching and research in Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Embedded Systems and IoT, Robot Design and Development, Computer Vision, and Autonomous Mobile Robots. Guided by its mission, it imparts strong fundamentals in robotics, artificial intelligence, and computational mathematics through quality teaching-learning and modern infrastructure, while providing hands-on, industry-aligned learning through live projects and internships. It actively fosters research, innovation, and problem-solving in emerging areas such as machine learning, IoT, and edge intelligence to develop autonomous systems that address real-world needs.
Through a curriculum that blends strong theoretical foundations with extensive hands-on laboratory practice, the department prepares students to design, build, and deploy robotic and AI-driven solutions for real-world challenges across industry and society - while inculcating professional ethics, lifelong learning, communication, teamwork, and employability skills for the holistic development of graduates and their responsible contribution to industry and society.
