Malnad College of Engineering is proud to share that Dr. Keerthi D. S., Associate Professor, Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, has been honoured with the ‘Protsahan Award 2026’ by the IEEE Communications Society Bangalore Chapter.

The award recognizes his outstanding research publication titled:
“Joint Optimization of User Association and Power Allocation in Wireless Networks Using a Large Spatio-Temporal Graph Transformer Model”, published in the prestigious Internet Technology Letters (Q2 Journal).

The research presents an innovative graph transformer-based framework for optimizing user association and power allocation in wireless communication networks, contributing to improved network efficiency, resource utilization, and the advancement of next-generation wireless systems.

The award was presented during the Protsahan Award Presentation Ceremony held on 13 June 2026 at RV College of Engineering, Bengaluru.

This achievement reflects MCE’s commitment to excellence in research and innovation, fostering impactful contributions to emerging technologies.

ECE Faculty and Student Teams Secure NAIN 2.0 Funding

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Malnad College of Engineering, Hassan, proudly congratulates Dr. Prakruthi H. L. and Dr. Spoorthi B. S. on securing ₹3,00,000 each under the NAIN 2.0 (New Age Innovation Network) initiative supported by the Department of Electronics, IT, BT and Science & Technology, Government of Karnataka.

AROGYA MANTHAN 2026- Rashmi M and Team, students of the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, Malnad College of Engineering, Hassan, have secured 1st Place at Arogya Manthan 2K26, winning a cash prize of ₹35,000 for their innovative CPR Gloves project.

Technology Business Incubator – Malnad College of Engineering, managed by ME-RIISE Foundation, successfully hosted Arogya Manthan 2K26, a 24-Hour State-Level Healthcare Innovation Hackathon on 27th & 28th July 2026, bringing together brilliant young innovators to develop impactful healthcare solutions.

The hackathon was inaugurated by Dr. B. Rajanna, Director, HIMS, in the presence of distinguished dignitaries B. R. Gurudev, Dr. D. C. Aravind, G. T. Kumar, G. R. Srinivas, Dr. S. Pradeep, Dr. Tejaswi, Dr. Praveen, and Kiran N. G.

The event was led by Dr. Geetha Kiran A., CEO, ME-RIISE Foundation, who emphasized the vision of nurturing innovation-driven healthcare solutions and fostering entrepreneurship.

Throughout the hackathon, participants were guided by experienced healthcare experts Dr. Nirupama, Dr. Sandhya, Dr. Rashmi, Dr. Raghu, Dr. Savithri and Dr. Sunitha, enabling them to transform ideas into impactful prototypes.

After three rigorous rounds of evaluation, the top 17 teams competed in the Grand Finale, where an eminent jury panel comprising Dr. Mamatha, Dr. Arjun B C, and Kiran N. G.  selected the most promising innovations.
