Faculty Certified as Lean Manufacturing Experts

Faculty members of the Mechanical Engineering Department of our institute- Dr. Divya H V, Dr. Jeevan T P, Dr. Raghavendra Rao R & Sharath H K, have successfully completed a 12-module course on Lean Manufacturing Practices (LMP) and got certified as Lean Manufacturing Experts under the aegis of Visionary Learning Community of India (VLCI), organised by the Mizuho India Japan Study Centre (MIJSC) at Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB).

They received certificates from Mr. Ramdas Baliga, Managing Director, Toshiba Software India, on the occasion of LMP Certification Ceremony 2025 held on August 1, 2025 at Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB).

Dr. Madhu P- ‘Award for Outstanding Research Publication’ (AORP)

Congratulations to Dean (Research) of our institute, Dr. Madhu P, on being selected for the ‘Award for Outstanding Research Publication’ (AORP) in Mechanical Engineering domain from Vision Group on Science and Technology (VGST), Karnataka Science and Technology Promotion Society, Department of Electronics, Information Technology, Biotechnology and Science & Technology, Government of Karnataka. This award includes a cash prize of Rs.25,000.

Dr. Madhu P, Associate Dean (Research) of our institute, is selected as an Adjunct Professor under the Adjunct Professor Program of Brawijaya University, Indonesia. 

He will work on a collaborative project titled "Modification of Petung Bamboo Fiber to Improve Composite Quality" along with Dr. Ir. Rudianto Raharjo, Faculty of Engineering, Brawijaya University. This research aims to enhance composite quality through the modification of bamboo fibers.

Their review article, “3D-printed graphene-reinforced composites: Opportunities and challenges,” published in the renowned journal Polymer Composites (Wiley), has been recognized as a Top Viewed Article – 2025.

This distinction places the article among the most-viewed papers published in Polymer Composites between January 1, 2024, and December 31, 2024, based on article view counts recorded 12 months after publication.

The recognition underscores the significant impact and global reach of their review article.

Innovation Showcased at IMTEX FORMING-2024

An innovative ‘Automated Sheet Metal Forming Tool’ developed by Pramod R, M.Tech student, Sharath H K, Assistant Professor, and Sachin M M, Foreman, of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Malnad College of Engineering (MCE), Hassan, was selected for participation in the Academia Pavilion at IMTEX FORMING-2024.

The international forming technology exhibition was held in Bengaluru from January 19 to 23, 2024. The exhibition was organised by the Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association (IMTMA) and provided a platform for showcasing innovations and advancements in forming and manufacturing technologies.

The selection of the Automated Sheet Metal Forming Tool for the Academia Pavilion is a significant achievement for MCE and reflects the institution’s emphasis on innovation, applied research and industry-oriented engineering solutions.
